The Six Dimensions of Wellness Model was created by Dr. Bill Hettler, co-founder of the National Wellness Institute (NWI). This popular model is utilized by many wellness organizations to derive resources and services.Organizations that cite this include: the European Journal of Social Science Studies, National Wellness Institute Journal, Aetna and National Library of Medicine. While there are variants of this model that include 7 or 8 dimensions, we find 6 dimensions to be more succinct. Universities have also adopted variants including: UC Davis, TCU, Ohio State University, University of Arizona, Wilfred Laurier University, Purdue and more.
